Josh Wise (born February 7, 1983 in Riverside, California)[1] is a NASCAR driver who currently runs in its Nationwide Series. He drives the #7 Tax Slayer Chevrolet Impala for JR Motorsports and the #39 Ford Mustang for Go Green Racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. He is a former member of the driver development program for Michael Waltrip Racing. Wise also competes part-time for the #37 Max Q Motorsports team.

Wise started racing when he was 8 years old in the United States Auto Club (USAC) Midget Series. When he was 16, he became the youngest USAC champion in history.
Wise first appeared in the ARCA Remax Series in 2006 with Eddie Sharp Racing. He ran two races and earned one top 10. In 2007, Wise returned to the team to run 11 races, earning one pole position and six top 10s, including three 2nd place finishes.
In 2007, it was announced that Wise would drive part-time for Darrell Waltrip Motorsports in conjunction with Michael Waltrip Racing.[2] In nine races in the #00 Aaron's. Inc. Toyota, Wise earned two top 10s, including a career best 6th at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
In 2007, Wise made his Nationwide Series debut at Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP). Driving the #22 Family Dollar Dodge for Fitz Motorsports, he started 29th and finished on the lead lap in 17th. In 2008, he ran 17 races in the #22 Supercuts Dodge for Fitz and the #00 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota for Michael Waltrip Racing. He earned one top 10 finish, a career best 5th at IRP. Wise made three series starts in 2009 for Xxxtreme Motorsport, failing to finish any of them. He also made one Sprint Cup Series attempt at Martinsville Speedway, failing to qualify in the #73 Dodge. After the 2009 season, it was announced that Wise had signed with Specialty Racing to run full-time in 2010. He raced in the #7 JR Motorsports Chevy with sponsorship from Go Daddy and HowDoYou.com part-time through 2010. In 2011, Wise will return to the #7 Chevrolet for six races, splitting the ride with IndyCar driver Danica Patrick. While Patrick will run the first four races of 2011, Wise will also drive the #39 for Go Green Racing while she is in the #7. Wise will drive for Key Motorsports to finish the season as Danica will be driving the #7.
Wise attempted to make his Sprint Cup debut in 2009 for Barry Haefele at Martinsville, but did not qualify. In 2010, he attempted Dover with Larry Gunselman's previous team and Texas for Robert Richardson but was also unsuccessful. Wise made his Cup Series debut at Chicago in 2011, finishing 42nd. Wise is collecting Nationwide points for 2011 and is eligible for 2012 Rookie of the Year consideration.[3]
